Captain Mike Badarack grew up in Satellite Beach, Florida and has been here since 1978. Prior to starting his guiding career, he was a K9 Officer with the police department for 11 years. He has been guiding both fishing trips and eco tours since 1998. He is the East Coast coordinator for FWC’s Tarpon DNA Tagging Program. In his spare time he coaches football at Satellite High School. “The thing I enjoy most about guiding is all the different people from all over the country you meet.”

Cobia and Triple Tail at Strike Zone
As we approach the end of February the near shore waters of the Space Coast will start to warm up. This marks the beginning of Cobia Season. Also known as ling to the north of us, cobia make for an exciting sight fishing oppurtunity that almost anyone can participate in. These fish gather in nearshore waters and are caught from all kinds of boats from sportfishers, to kayaks, to paddle boards.
On Thursday February 21st at 6pm Captain Scott Lum will be speaking at Strike Zone in Melbourne about targeting these brown bombers. The seminar is free and will include free refreshments and raffle.
Surf Fishing Seminar
Thursday January 17th will be our first seminar of the year. West Marine in Melbourne will host John Detmer of J&H Surf Fishing at 6pm. John will share his knowledgeg on equipment, bait, location and more to effectively fish the Space Coast surf.
As always the seminar is free and open to the public.

Captain Glyn Austin is a lifelong resident of Central Florida and has fished the Indian River Lagoon and offshore Brevard County along with many other Florida and Bahamian waters his entire life. He has knowledge of feeding habits and migration patterns of targeted fish species. He also has experience fishing many saltwater tournaments with success both offshore and inshore.
